The other day I was happily watching the recent BBC adaptation of 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles' and among other things I was really taken by the strings in the soundtrack. They were just so haunting and melancholy and really suited the tragic happenings in the story. In a way they seemed very Irish and I once again thought how much I love Celtic music. The soul is swept away and the heart rendered helpless. It moves me to the core.
